Dr. Lisa S. Gamell is Board Certified Ophthalmic Surgeon specializing in the treatment of Glaucoma, Cataracts, and Anterior Segment Diseases. Dr. Gamell is an expert is all aspects of Glaucoma management, including medical treatment, laser treatment and surgeries ranging from
traditional trabeculectomy and tube shunt procedures to the newer MIGS (Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgeries) options.
During fellowship, Dr. Gamell and her mentor Dr. Shingleton
published one of the first research papers demonstrating that cataract surgery lowers eye pressure in glaucoma patients. As a result, Dr. Gamell specializes in Cataract Surgery in patients with Glaucoma, helping them determine the best approach given their level of disease.
